Zusammenfassung
Patienten mit Tumoren der Kopf-Hals-Region leiden sehr häufig an chronischen Schmerzen, die meist ungenügend behandelt sind. Mit einer Behandlung gemäß dem WHO-Stufenschema lässt sich bei der Mehrzahl der Patienten eine deutliche Verbesserung der Schmerzsituation erreichen. Neben den grundsätzlichen Prinzipien der Schmerztherapie müssen bei Patienten mit HNO-Tumoren die speziellen Gegebenheiten der Tumorlokalisation und der psychosozialen Situation berücksichtigt werden, um eine gute Schmerzeinstellung zu erzielen.
Abstract
Patients with tumors of the head and neck region commonly suffer from chronic pain, which is often treated insufficiently. Pain management according to the WHO analgesic ladder can effectively reduce pain in most patients. For head and neck cancer, specific aspects of tumor localization and psychosocial factors must be taken into consideration.
