Abstract
Necrotizing erysipelas is the most severe variant of the disease and usually extends to involve soft tissues. Rapid exclusion of necrotizing fasciitis—the most important differential diagnosis—can be important for the survival of the patient. We present a patient with necrotizing erysipelas and discuss the diagnostic procedures, differential diagnosis, risk factors, and the treatment of this disease.
