Zusammenfassung

Das Aufwachsen unter familiären Belastungen birgt eine Reihe an Risiken für Eltern und Kinder. Die Frühen Hilfen wollen in diesem Bereich nachhaltig effektive und wissenschaftlich validierte Prävention und Intervention anbieten, um zum Schutz der Kinder diesen Risiken effektiv zu begegnen. Die entwicklungspsychologische Studie zu Risiko- und Schutzprozessen bei Familien mit unterschiedlicher psychosozialer Belastung dient dazu, die Mechanismen zu eruieren, die bei Belastung unter den aktuellen Lebensbedingungen und dem vorhandenen Schutzsystem in Deutschland zu Misshandlung und Vernachlässigung führen, bzw. zu Defiziten in der kognitiven, sozialen und emotionalen Entwicklung bei betroffenen Kindern beitragen, sie verstärken oder aber abmildern und verhindern. Die Längsschnittstudie mit Kohortensequenzdesign untersucht bei Kleinkindern die Entwicklung von Kompetenz und frühen Verhaltensauffälligkeiten sowie die Interaktionsqualität mit den Bezugspersonen. Der Artikel beschreibt das Design der Studie und die Methoden, die Entwicklungstests, systematische Beobachtungen und Fragebogendaten umfassen. Die ersten Ergebnisse deuten auf eine stabile Zugehörigkeit zu einer Risikogruppe über die Zeit, bei moderater Stabilität einzelner Risikofaktoren der Familien, hin.

Abstract

Family adversity comprises many risk factors for parents and children. The German early intervention approach Frühe Hilfen aims at providing enduring, effective, and scientifically validated prevention and intervention for effective child protection against those risks. The study on risk and protective mechanisms in the development of families with diverse psychosocial risks aims at identifying those mechanisms that cause and stabilize or moderate and diminish maltreatment and neglect, as well as cognitive, social, and emotional developmental deviations in risk families, specifically in the current German social and child protection system. The study examines the development of competence and early behavior problems in a sample of infants and toddlers and the interaction quality with their caregivers by applying a longitudinal sequential-cohort design. The assessments include developmental tests, systematic observations, and questionnaire data. First results suggest stable risk group membership and moderate stability of single risk factors.
