Abstract

In this paper, we design an effective algorithm for direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation using the coprime array in the presence of unknown nonuniform noise. Firstly, we replace the diagonal entries of the array covariance matrix with zeros and generate the coarray output signal by vectorization and removing redundancy. Subsequently, we build a Toeplitz matrix via virtual array interpolation, and utilize matrix completion and linear prediction to recover the missing interpolated and diagonal entries, respectively. Finally, we acquire the source DOAs by applying the MUSIC algorithm on the reconstructed covariance matrix. Numerical results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed algorithm in comparison with several existing approaches.
