On Some Functional Equations Involving Babbage Equation

Abstract.

In this note we present some theorems characterizing solutions of the equation f(x) = f(φ(x))+g(x), where φ is a solution of Babbage equation φ n (x) = x. Moreover, the stability of this equation, non-stability of Babbage equation and non-stability of the translation equation in a class of functions are proved.
