Ventcel's boundary conditions and analytic semigroups

Abstract.

In this paper we prove that first-order degenerate ordinary differential operators generate analytic semigroups in spaces of continuous functions if Ventcel's boundary conditions are assumed. Some applications to different types of degeneration are also discussed.
