Abstract.

The non-conservative truncation of the Smoluchowski coagulation equation is a good approximation to study the gelation phenomenon, both from a theoretical and numerical point of view. The purpose of this note is to show that it is also well-suited to approximate the Smoluchowski equation in the absence of gelation.
