Abstract

The law affects the Global Positioning System (GPS) industry both on a macro and on a micro level. On a macro level, issues such as future regulation of telematics, frequency spectrum allocation, and international agreements will shape the future of the industry. On a micro level, GPS companies can benefit from knowledge of legal pitfalls common in the high technology arena. Many thanks to Ingrid Lagarrigue, a French aviation and space lawyer specializing in Global Navigation Satellite legal issues, for her assistance and comments. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
