Summary.
Reaction of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with 1,12-diamine-4,9-dioxadodecane in the presence of magnesium(II), zinc(II), and cadmium(II) perchlorates as template agents gives the complexes of 19-membered macrocyclic ligand 1 with a set of two N and three O donor atoms. The complexes were characterized by spectroscopic methods (IR, 1H NMR, FAB-MS) and thermogravimetric and elemental analyses.
