Array Illuminators: A Review

  • Published:
Journal of Optics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Array generators are elements that split an incident light beam into a une or two array of beamlets. These elements have several applications, for example, in multiple imaging, as interconnects in optical computers, in optical processing, etc. There are many different methods for fabricating array generators and the elements obtained from these different methods possess different characteristics. This review gives an up-to-date study of the various fabrication techniques and descries the advantages and demerits of the resulting elements.
