Abstract
The angle between two interfering plane waves incident on a holographic plate, θ, is important in the production of diffraction gratings. If θ is about 10°, the diffraction grating is called thin, whereas, for θ between 10°, and about 120°, it is called thick, [1,2,3].
In this paper we first report the determination of the transition angle θT. The variation of θ as a result of variations in the efficiency of the phase diffraction grating, η, and its spatial frequency, f, in the vicinity of the transition angle θT, is then discussed.
The research on holography and production of phase diffraction gratings is being developed for the first time in Iran by author.
