Abstract

The modulation of target and background images has been studied and it has been found that reticle modulates target and background images at same frequency. In that case the target is discriminated against background because of the difference in rms values of fundamental components of their modulated wave-forms. It is contrary to the existing concept that the discrimination is accomplished because of the difference in modulating frequencies.
