Abstract

Two problems are investigated. Can a 2½ hour weekly child/adolescent experience as part of a six week required third year clinical clerkship positively affect medical student attitudes? Second, what factors of the clerkship are rated as most important by the medical student and what is the most salutary method of instruction? The recruitment implications for child psychiatry are considered in light of the results.
