True Diffusion Coefficients of Some Binary Gas Mixtures

Abstract

True diffusion coefficients of binary (He-N2, He-CO2, H2-Ar) gas mixtures have been measured in the temperature range 290–1060 K by the stationary continuous-flow method. The temperature dependence of the true diffusion coefficients is established. Based on experimental data, barodiffusion constants are determined and the Meyer formula is verified. Measured values of the true diffusion coefficients are compared to results obtained by rigorous kinetic theory.
