Abstract
This article starts by presenting some of the difficulties encountered by researchers and administrators in trying to work together. It then assesses the importance of the notion of territory in the planning and organization of health services. Last, the article presents the work achieved by the Agence de la santé de Montréal, where geographic information systems have contributed to bringing research and the field closer together.
Résumé
Cet article présente dans un premier temps certaines difficultés que les chercheurs et les administrateurs rencontrent lorsqu’ils essaient de travailler ensemble. Dans un deuxième temps, il évalue l’importance de la notion de territoire pour la planification et l’organisation des services de santé. Enfin, l’article présente les travaux de l’Agence de la santé de Montréal, où les SIG ont contribué au rapprochement entre la recherche et le terrain.
