Abstract

ONE well-known technical man has said to the authors “Everyone knew it was impossible so you went ahead and did it.” This is the first description of three procedures for solid-phase bonding of aluminum alloys to various steels, the bond strengths being very high. From this beginning a whole new series of composite metals may follow.
