Abstract
There is a great incentive for the saving of weight in airframe structures, and there is reason to believe that beryllium could qualify as a highly desirable structural material. Nevertheless, no such use has been made, at least until recently. This report attempts to explain why this is so, and what the prospects for future use may be.
