Abstract

CERN the European Organization for Nuclear Research, was born in July, 1953 its 12 member nations desirous of building an international laboratory for basic research in the field of high-enegry particles. With a cyclotron alreday in operation and synchrotron construction advanced to assembly of accelerator components, excellent progress may be reported.
