Oxygen desiliconizing provides hot-metal electric steelmaking

Abstract

A new oxygen desiliconizing process, used to treat hot metal for Britain’s newest electric furnace shop, means lower cost production of alloy steels. It is described in a report direct from the Brymbo Steel Works.
