Abstract

Monolithic constructions in center sections of arc-furnace roofs have proven a practical method of reducing refractory roof costs, offering maximum economies when either rammed or cast. Avoiding laminations and insuring volume stability of the material are important considerations, and materials and methods are available to accomplish this.
