Abstract
A survey of improvements wrought by substituting updraft for downdraft sintering of lead concentrates. This technique, developed simultaneously in Germany and Australia, is in one case being used to produce sulfurons gases for acid production, and in the second to produce sinter for Lurgi’s roast-reaction lead-smelting process.
