Abstract

A high temperature calorimeter designed for use up to 1500°K is described and the theory of its operation presented. This calorimeter was used to measure the heats of formation of Na-Sn alloys ranging in composition from tin to Na-Sn. The values tend to support those reported by Kubaschewski and Seith.
