Abstract

The oxygen pressure in equilibrium with silver and Ag2O-B2O3 melts has been measured between 800° and 900°C, to obtain the thermodynamic properties of the liquid. The compound Ag2O·4B2O3 appears to exist in the liquid, which shows marked heat content and entropy effects.
