Abstract
An investigation of the Cr-Ni System has revealed that there exists a eutectoid transformation at about 1180°C. The transformation in chromium implied by the eutectoid reaction was detected at about 100°C below its melting point. Associated with the eutectoid transformation, a metastable transition structure has been found.
