Abstract
The design and installation of a continuous tapper for lead blast furnaces is described. Operating data for three plants are given, and the advantages of this operation—economic slag, less manpower and better working conditions, increased production, utilization of a wide range of charge and slag compositions, and increased settler life—are examined.
