Abstract
Learners viewed an ambiguous geometrical figure described either as resembling a “street intersection” or a “Christian cross.” Other learners viewed the figure without an E-supplied verbal label. After 6 months, the 427 Ss made recognitive choices and described their remembered figure. As sociative labeling influenced both the recognitive judgments and learners’ descriptions.
