Abstract

3 pigeons were given training with an automated procedure for obtaining magazine approach behavior and key pecking. All Ss rapidly acquired magazine approach behavior and key pecking. The technique is discussed in terms of a time-saving method for freeing E from the monitoring of behavior and delivering of reinforcements as required during the traditional hand-shaping procedure.
