Abstract
Tradition suggests that we start with basic scientific principles and later show how they can be applied. To capitalize on the recent emphasis upon “relevance,” one might start with a topic that is inherently interesting and introduce scientific principles where appropriate to the discussion. One example is presented. The technique may be expanded so that scientific principles always are taught within the context of an interesting problem-oriented discussion.
