Poetry as a Healing Force in Later Adulthood: The Case of Nezahualcoyotl

Abstract

This paper investigates how Nezahualcoyotl, a fifteenth century Aztec poet used writing as a healing force in his later adult years. The author concludes that the poetry served as a therapeutic resource for Nezahualcoyotl to resolve a crisis of despair.
