Conclusion

Utilization of tonnage oxygen at Inco has been a continuing effort, occupying the interests and energies of the many individuals concerned over a period of 20 years. Since first put to use at Copper Cliff on a full-scale basis in January 1952, oxygen has grown in usage and importance, improving the efficiency and output of the main processing units that depend on oxidation of sulfides or fossil fuels. Potential uses of oxygen in copper-nickel metallurgy are far from exhausted, and important new developments can be expected.
