Continuous temperature measurement for basic oxygen steelmaking

Abstract

From Max-Planck Institut für Eisenforschung in Germany comes a technique for inserting a ceramic tube containing a thermocouple through the converter wall. Successful application of such a technique opens a wide array of control possibilities for basic oxygen steelmaking.
