Vermittlungsmodell und thematische Struktur: Zu Robinson Crusoe und Humphry Clinker

Zusammenfassung

In beiden Romanen besteht — akzentuiert durch die Spannung zwischen moralistischer und realistischer Intention — ein implizites Spannungsverhältnis zwischen thematischer Struktur und Vermittlungsform, anhand dessen die Inadäquatheit der nur auf letztere gerichteten rezeptionsorientierten Analysen nachgewiesen werden kann. Daraus ergibt sich der Versuch, eine Verbindung von Rezeptionsästhetik, Strukturalismus und Hermeneutik theoretisch zu begründen.

Abstract

A tension between the thematic structures and their strategies of communication is implicit in both novels, accentuated by the tension between moral and realistic intentions. Since a reader-oriented approach can only cope with the latter its inadequacy is apparent. This is the motivation for attempting to work out a theoretical foundationf or the integration of reader-oriented, structuralistic, and hermeneutical approaches.
