Abstract
Future production concepts will increasingly be based on workplaces that allow for human-robot cooperation without fences between them. Humans and robots will share common work areas and, depending on the application scenario, even work hand in hand.
Following a short introduction and a presentation of the principles of new technologies that allow human-robot cooperation, current standardization is reviewed and research on the determination of biomechanical limits and the measurement of collisions is described. Furthermore, new technologies which will enable humans and robots to cooperate in the future are presented.
