Zusammenfassung

Während das Merkmal einer Frühsommermeningoenzephalitis (FSME) die Ataxie ist, steht bei der Japanischen Enzephalitis (JE) die Parkinson-Symptomatik im Vordergrund. Da beide Erkrankungen häufig schwer verlaufen und kausal nicht behandelbar sind, wird bei entsprechender Indikation zur aktiven Impfung geraten. Unsere Autoren haben Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede der beiden Infektionen zusammengestellt.
