Dr. H. W. Grenfell joined the Steel Company of Wales in 1952. He won a Company University Scholarship which allowed him to obtain his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at Birmingham Univ. and a Ph.D. in the Univ. of Wales. On nationalization of the British Steel Industry he became Chief Engineer (Special Projects) in the Strip Mills Division of the British Steel Corp. He has over thirty patents in most steelmaking countries.

David J. Bowen was formerly employed as an Instrument Engineer with the Imperial Smelting Corp., an associated company of Rio Tinto Zinc. He joined the Steel Company of Wales just prior to nationalization in 1967 as a Research Engineer and is now Project Engineer (Special Projects) in the British Steel Corp., Strip Mills Division. He is a member of the British Institute of Measurement and Control.
