Additional information

He holds degrees in metallurgical engineering from Dresden Institute of Technology (Germany). Dr. Bergmann joined Alcoa in 1952 and has been engaged principally in the field of solidification and technology of continuous casting of aluminum ingot.

This article is based on Dr. Bergmann’s paper, presented at the 100th Annual Meeting of AIME, held in New York in 1971.
