Abstract

The work carried out to identify a suitable ceramic diffuse reflector, for optical pumping in visible-near IR region of solid-state laser medium using arc lamps, flash lamps or laser diodes is reported. Reflecting properties and effects of UV exposure on reflectivity of alumina discs prepared with different purity (percentage of alumina) and with different fabrication processes have been experimentally studied.
