H. Alan Fine received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Carnegie-Mellon University in June of 1969, and his Sc.D. in Metallurgy and Materials Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in May of 1973. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering, College of Mines, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona 85721. His research activity is concentrated on extractive metallurgy and coal beneficiation.
