Disseminated nocardiosis in a patient with Cushing’s syndrome

Abstract

Nocardia Asteroides infection may occur in corticosteroid treated patients. However, nocardiosis in the presence of endogenous Cushing’s syndrome has been previously reported in rare cases. We report a patient with Cushing’s syndrome from bilateral nodular adrenal hyperplasia, in whom a disseminated form of nocardiosis complicated his hypercortisolism.
