Riassunto

L’infertilità rappresenta una possibile complicanza dell’obesità. Nell’uomo, essa favorisce una riduzione del testosterone e alterazioni degli speramatozoi, oltre che la disfunzione erettile. Nella donna, l’infertilità dovuta all’obesità è solitamente di tipo anovulatorio. Anche l’efficacia attuale delle tecniche di fertilizzazione assistita può essere ridotta. La sindrome dell’ovaio policistico, frequentemente associata a obesità, rappresenta la condizione più comune di infertilità anovulatoria.
