Pubertà precoce: quando e come trattare

Riassunto

In questo articolo vengono analizzati gli aspetti fondamentali della diagnosi della pubertà precoce con particolare riguardo alla diagnostica differenziale fra le forme di pubertà precoce centrale o gonadotropinodipendente (PPC) e quelle gonadotropino-indipendenti o periferiche (PPGI). I criteri diagnostici generalmente usati vengono descritti e criticati e si danno indicazioni sui limiti convenzionalmente utilizzati per porre il sospetto diagnostico. Tutto cid nell’ottica di una diagnostica intesa a razionalizzare il trattamento specifico delle due forme. Gli scopi, la tipologia del trattamento, e i tempi in cui iniziare il trattamento stesso vengono descritti e viene indicato il tempo corretto da prendere in considerazione per la sospensione dei farmaci. Si indicano, inoltre, i farmaci più idonei da utilizzare e le modalità di somministrazione per la corretta terapia della pubertà precoce.
