Abstract
T elemanagement is fast proving to be an essential ingredient of any successful programme for managing patients with congestive heart failure. Two congestive heart failure programmes incorporating an algorithm-directed telemanagement system have shown early success in lowering hospital readmission rates for patients with the debilitating disease. The results with these programmes, one based at the Crozer Keystone Health Network, Pennsylvania, and the other at the University of Michigan Hospital, Michigan, US, were described at the recent Second Annual Disease Management Congress [ California, US; February 1998 ].
