Abstract

From NPS-28 Standards for Historic and Prehistoric Struc tures … “Deteriorated architectural features will be repaired rather than replaced whenever possible. If replacement is necessary, the new material should match the old in composition, design, color, texture, and other visual qualities such as weathering characteristics. Repair or replacement missing architectural features will be based on accurate duplications rather than on conjectural designs or availability of different architectural elements from other structures.”
