Morphology of Flake, Ductile and Compacted Graphite

Abstract

Graphite nucleation, growth and morphology play an important role in determining the physical and mechanical properties in different cast irons. This paper discusses the factors controlling the formation of flake and spheroidal forms of graphite. It also attempts to explain the formation and morphology of the compacted graphite.
