An optical Hough-transform filter for parallel detection of plural element shapes

Abstract

Optical parallel implementation of plural Hough-transforms is investigated for simultaneous detection of plural element shapes. Parallel detection is optically carried out using a two-dimensional array of computergenerated holograms, each of which simultaneously reconstructs plural rearranged parameter domains. A Hough-transform filter for parallel detection of lines and circles is demonstrated by composing a 16 × 16 computer-generated hologram array. It has excellent performance in quality of reconstructed images.
