Abstract
Sealants and elastic adhesives based on various silylated polymers (see first part of this article in adhesion ADHESIVES & SEALANTS 9/2009 p. 18) moved mainstream several years ago. They owe their unique properties both to the polymers used and to the ‘art’ of compounding. Nowadays a broad range of products is available for nearly every conceivable application in industry, small trade or do-it-yourself applications.
