Challenges in the assembly of electric vehicles

Abstract

With its Touareg Hybrid, Volkswagen launched the Group’s first production vehicle with a full hybrid drivetrain on the market this year. Assembly and commissioning of the new high-voltage components posed new challenges for assembly. New solutions had to be worked out, not only for the installation of the high-voltage components, but also for the handling of high-voltage systems during all stages of production.
