Abstract

Traffic density has greatly increased on Europe’s roads in the past few years. Although co-pilots are not provided for in cars, their place can be taken by driver assistance systems. These must, however, not be reserved only for the executive class. The industrial and social challenge is to provide drivers of small and medium-sized vehicles with an electronic co-pilot as well. Sensor fusion is a key technology that Hella uses to make driver assistance systems less expensive.
