Ford and supplier consortium develop hybrid bus in 90 days

Abstract

Ford Motor Company, American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. and three other supplier partners have completed development of a prototype FASTM (referred to as FAST) bus within 90 days of design conception. The series hybrid-type vehicle is intended for airport shuttle and mass transit applications, has a top speed of 60 mph and peak torque of 405 lbs-ft.
