Abstract

Disturbing noises from powertrains are becoming more and more important, since, from the viewpoint of competition, they play a significant role and are generally equated with insufficient product quality. Especially for the internal combustion engines currently being used in the automotive and supply industry, it is becoming more and more obvious that reducing the sound pressure level is not sufficient for achieving the requested sound quality. Instead, it is necessary to proceed by considering the analytical ability of the human ear psychoacoustics.
